My Lady

I'm going to write a short piece on Amy Winehouse. Enough with the drugs, booze and crazy jokes, this woman is legitimate. Her tone, range and dexterity made her one of the greatest vocalists of our generation. She had a style and sound that was so electrifyingly genius, which ultimately lead to her success and demise. I will miss her music, her soul, her sound, her hilarity, her hair, her voice, her sass... I really hope she's found happiness and is now at peace where she should be.

I got about 15 texts from people asking me if I'd heard the news about my beloved Amy. I discovered her a little before the release of Back to Black and bought her first album, Frank. I knew from the get go she was going to be one of the most influential artists of our generation. I am devastated at her loss, and I hope she has finally found solace and happiness. A true musical genius. Even at 19, her talent surpasses most triple her age.
